John Legend Shut Down Sexist "Mom-Shaming" In The Best Damn Way

    "Funny there's no dad-shaming."

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen became first-time parents last month to little Luna.

But since then, Chrissy has come under major flack. First off, she was criticised for going out for dinner with John just over a week after she gave birth.

And the next day Chrissy tweeted screenshots to show the extent of the negativity in her Instagram comments.

I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning!

And when she shared this image of herself on Mother's Day last week, many criticised her for wearing a crop top, labelling her "insensitive" and giving other new mothers "unrealistic expectations" for their post-partum body.

Funnily enough, though, John Legend hasn't come under any of the same criticism. 😏

And he's now taken to Twitter to highlight the implicit sexism in shaming mothers for their parenting decisions, while disregarding fathers.

Funny there's no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn't have to take it all. We'll split it.

    YES, JOHN. 🙏 👏

And while he was at it, he also hit back at comments made on The Daily Show, in which it was implied that Chrissy and John don't parent their child at all – and instead employ Mary Poppins.

Luna's first @TheDailyShow appearance. FYI, we only have Mary Poppins on weekends.
