1. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

2008: Back in 2008, Kristen and Dax were one year into their relationship. They got engaged in 2010, but waited until same-sex marriage was legalised in California before tying the knot in 2013.

2018: Since then, the pair have gone on to have two daughters – Lincoln and Delta – while maintaining their acting careers. Most notably, Kristen voiced the character of Princess Anna in Frozen, while Dax was part of the long-running series, Parenthood. Kristen recently shared an emotional Instagram post revealing all of the ways she and Dax have maintained their marriage.

2. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi

2008: Thanks to the overturning of the same-sex marriage ban, 2008 was the year that Ellen and Portia tied the knot after four years of dating.

2009: Since then, Ellen has continued her phenomenally successful talkshow, starred as a judge on American Idol and hosted the Oscars. Portia has appeared on numerous TV shows including Cursed, Nip/Tuck and Scandal as well as recently reprising her role on Arrested Development. The pair also celebrated Ellen's milestone 60th birthday together earlier this month.

3. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

2008: Heidi and Spencer were enjoying the peak of their careers in 2008, when The Hills was attracting record audiences. It was also the year they eloped to Mexico, although their marriage was made legal in another televised ceremony the following year. They remained on the show for a further two years before leaving to launch Heidi's ill-fated music career in 2010.

2018: Despite everyone saying at the time that their relationship would never last, Heidi and Spencer celebrated their ten year anniversary last year. Since The Hills, the pair have starred in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here as well as two seasons of Celebrity Big Brother UK. They recently launched a podcast, and in October 2017 welcomed their first child – a boy named Gunner.

4. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith

2008: In 2008 Will was firmly establishing himself as a leading man, taking on roles in multiple Hollywood blockbusters including I Am Legend, Hanncock and Men In Black III. Jada, meanwhile was breaking into writing and directing as well as starring in primetime TV shows. And just look at how little Jaden and Willow were!

2018: Will has cemented his acting career, starring in 10 films since 2008. Jada has moved into philanthropy with a particular focus on politics and women's rights. Meanwhile Jaden and Willow have become stars in their own right through acting, singing and modelling.

5. David and Victoria Beckham

2008: This was the year that Victoria launched her eponymous fashion label, while David was signed on loan to Milan.

2018: Since then the couple completed their family with their birth of Harper in 2011. David has retired from football, turning his attention to academies and expansion teams. Victoria's fashion label has become wildly successful, and she opened a flagship store in London's Mayfair in 2014. And, if rumours are to be believed, some form of Spice Girls reunion may be on the cards this year.

2008: In 2008 Nicole and Joel were two years into their relationship and had just welcomed their first child, Harlow. This was also the year that Nicole launched her fashion label, House of Harlow, while Joel was still a part of Good Charlotte.

2018: In 2009 they welcomed their second child, Sparrow, and married the following year. Nicole still runs House of Harlow while Joel went on to form a band with his brother and became a judge on The Voice Australia.

2008: In 2008 Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr were both six years into their marriage, and two of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood.

2018: Sine then Sarah Michelle has continued to act in and produce TV shows while Freddie has turned his attention to producing and directing WWE fights. They now have two children and will be celebrating 18 years together in 2018.

8. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

2008: In 2008, Justin and Jessica were one year into their relationship. Justin had recently put his music career on hold and transitioned into acting, landing roles in The Social Network and Friends With Benefits. Meanwhile Jessica was rising to prominence having starred in an eclectic mix of films from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to Valentine's Day.

2018: Jessica and Justin got married in 2012 and welcomed their son, Silas, three years later. Earlier this month Justin returned to his musical roots, releasing his first album in five years. Jessica, fed up with "waiting for challenging and interesting roles to happen," decided to move into producing and create them herself.

2008: The Obama family spent most of 2008 focused on Barack's campaign for presidency which, I hear, went quite well. He was elected president on November 4th 2008.

2018: The family spent two terms and eight years in the White House before leaving in 2016. Since then, Barack and Michelle have been living their best damn lives, while also working on books and charity work.

2018: Since 2008, Nick and Lachey have gone on to have three children – Camden who arrived in 2012, Brooklyn in 2015 and Phoenix who has just turned two. They've enjoyed massive career successes – Nick reuniting with his 98 Degrees bandmates and Vanessa scoring numerous TV and movie roles.

Most recently they both appeared on the same season of Dancing With The Stars.

11. Jessica Alba and Cash Warren

2008: After meeting in 2004, Jessica and Cash tied the knot in 2008. A month later, Jessica gave birth to their first child.

2018: Since then, the pair have gone on to have two further children, welcoming their first son, Hayes, on New Year's Eve 2017. Alongside acting, Jessica now runs two lifestyle businesses, while Cash continues his work as an executive producer.

2018: In 2010 the pair announced that they were expecting twins via a surrogate, announced their engagement a year later and then got married in 2014. While they still enjoy successful acting careers, these days they also make an unbelievably cute family.

2008: John and Chrissy's may have met in 2007, but she maintains she played it cool for a year, meaning their relationship only really began in 2008. Meanwhile, John was breaking into the mainstream music industry and Chrissy was enjoying massive success as a model.

2018: The pair got engaged in 2011 and married in Lake Como two years later. Over the past ten years both of their careers have gone from strength to strength with John winning four Grammys, a TONY and a goddamn Oscar. Chrissy has moved into TV hosting, fronting LipSynch Battle. She's also written a best-selling cookbook and is officially the funniest person on Twitter, don't @ me. In 2015, the pair welcomed their first child, Luna, and are currently expecting a baby boy due in June.
