1. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

2008: Back in 2008, Kristen and Dax were one year into their relationship. They got engaged in 2010, but waited until same-sex marriage was legalised in California before tying the knot in 2013.

2018: Since then, the pair have gone on to have two daughters – Lincoln and Delta – while maintaining their acting careers. Most notably, Kristen voiced the character of Princess Anna in Frozen, while Dax was part of the long-running series, Parenthood. Kristen recently shared an emotional Instagram post revealing all of the ways she and Dax have maintained their marriage.

2. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi

2008: Thanks to the overturning of the same-sex marriage ban, 2008 was the year that Ellen and Portia tied the knot after four years of dating.

2009: Since then, Ellen has continued her phenomenally successful talkshow, starred as a judge on American Idol and hosted the Oscars. Portia has appeared on numerous TV shows including Cursed, Nip/Tuck and Scandal as well as recently reprising her role on Arrested Development. The pair also celebrated Ellen's milestone 60th birthday together earlier this month.

2008: Heidi and Spencer were enjoying the peak of their careers in 2008, when The Hills was attracting record audiences. It was also the year they eloped to Mexico, although their marriage was made legal in another televised ceremony the following year. They remained on the show for a further two years before leaving to launch Heidi's ill-fated music career in 2010.

2018: Despite everyone saying at the time that their relationship would never last, Heidi and Spencer celebrated their ten year anniversary last year. 5. David and Victoria Beckham

2008: This was the year that Victoria launched her eponymous fashion label, while David was signed on loan to Milan.

2018: Since then the couple completed their family with their birth of Harper in 2011. David has retired from football, turning his attention to academies and expansion teams. Victoria's fashion label has become wildly successful, and she opened a flagship store in London's Mayfair in 2014. And, if rumours are to be believed, some form of Spice Girls reunion may be on the cards this year.

2018: Sine then Sarah Michelle has continued to act in and produce TV shows while Freddie has turned his attention to producing and directing WWE fights. They now have two children and will be celebrating 18 years together in 2018.
