40 Ways To Organize Every Cabinet In Your House

Or at least every type of cabinet that I know exists.

    1. Give lazy Susans a whirl on a low kitchen cabinet shelf to get a clear view of bottled, heavy items like spices, olive oil, and ingredients that don't need to be refrigerated. PLUS, they'll catch those stray red pepper flakes or powders, making cleaning out the cabinet *so* much easier.

    2. Hang up lighter spices (like cinnamon and garlic powder in plastic bottles!) in spice clips you can stick on the inside of cabinet doors by the stove for easy access. (Seriously, spices are the EASIEST to get lost in with everything else!)

    3. Safely store your mountains of bulk-buy cans on special racks you can slide onto a higher kitchen cabinet shelf. This way they won't go tumbling next time you need some black beans for a pot of chili but you'll still see when it's time to restock!

    4. "Install" a lightweight shelf that clips onto a cabinet shelf to help fill up the dead space with light bags of snacks, food wraps, and more. Aka, the stuff that can get crushed mixed in with cans but you also don't want to unearth after the expiration date has passed :(.

    5. Get back that shelf of jumbled tea boxes by storing bags in an easy-to-grab tea bag organizer that'll take up significantly less room *and* help you keep track of how many bags you have left of sleepytime.

    6. And do the same for your K-cups with a coffee pod organizer that'll eliminate piles of mostly empty boxes and move easily from lower cabinet to countertop during your morning routine.

    7. Reposition clear bins filled with like-minded packaged goods as your storage needs change. Sometimes ya' need your insta-gravy packets front and center, and other times you need boxes organic mac and cheese at eye level.

    8. Label and turn square food storage containers onto their side so there's room for everyone!

    9. Gather up all those oddly shaped boxes of ziplock bags, aluminum foil, saran wrap, and more in an adjustable food wrap organizer, lest you make the sad mistake of putting a slow cooker dump dinner in a NON-FREEZER ziplock gallon bag and have your meal prep gone to waste. Again.

    10. Turn that stack of baking sheets and cutting boards upright (and actually SEE what you have!) with a pantry rack just begging to be parked close to your oven and prep space where you can easily reach it while holding that cucumber you already retrieved from the fridge.

    11. Or if you're looking for a little more of a permanent solution, install a pull-out rack so you can summon those baking sheets and pot lids that've been hiding in your deepest, darkest lower kitchen cabinet.

    12. And consider getting that waffle maker, stand mixer, and other small(ish) kitchen appliances off you countertops and onto two rolling shelves that'll keep 'em out of sight 'til it's time to whip up your famous lemon squares.

    13. Or if most of your non-food goods are regaled to one larger bottom cabinet, you can make them all coexist in harmony with a few organizing goods (like the pantry rack ^) and some hooks/adjustable curtain rods for your most oft-used pot lids on cabinet doors.

    14. Corral all those random toppers with a food storage lid organizer if you're fortunate enough to have some drawers in your kitchen cabinets. The dream!

    15. Scoot all those top-heavy wine glasses into a safer spot in the kitchen with mounted stemware racks that'll free up some serious cabinet space for all your other impressive organizational feats. (P.S. This will also work in a bar cabinet!)

    16. Put stacks of plates on this sturdy corner shelf to prove that yes, those few inches of awkward inches up against the cabinet wall can be used for greatness!

    17. Fit in every last (super heavy) dish with expandable cabinet shelves that'll basically double up your shelf storage and finally contain that Fiestaware collection.

    18. In the bathroom, squeeze a surprising amount of organization around that oddly shaped bathroom sink pipe with an expandable rack that'll help you find love in a hopeless place.

    19. Put a two-tier basket organizer to work beneath the bathroom vanity corralling boxes of medication, toiletries, and most anything else that gets throw underneath there.

    20. Find a place to contain your hair dryer, round brush, flat iron... you get the gist, in this hair tools holder that'll help you safely tuck away your everyday essentials in an orderly fashion.

    21. Nearly double the space behind your bathroom mirror with these medicine cabinet organizers to help you nestle in all your small-ish essentials without sending them for a tumble every time you open said cabinet.

    22. Group together each kid's toothbrush and toothpaste into a container that'll easily fit inside the cabinet. That no one'll argue over toothpaste. Other stuff? Who's to say!

    23. Corral metal medicine cabinet go-tos like bobby pins, tweezers, metal nail files, and nail clippers on a magnetic knife strip mounted on the inside of the cabinet or inside a bathroom drawer so you're never poked by said instrument while in search of it. Or even worse, knock it down your bathroom sink!

    24. Keep any prescription meds under lock and key (especially if kids are around) in a special cabinet that'll fit in a bathroom cabinet (if not your medicine cabinet).

    25. And if your medicine cabinet isn't going to cut it for holding your toiletries, a spinning beauty organizer can live in a linen cabinet or under your bathroom sink and give you equal access to everything.

    26. Tidy up your bathroom cabinets or a linen closet with some wire shelf dividers that'll help prevent your mountain of fresh towels from taking a tumble onto the bathroom floor.

    27. Mix it up in your linen closet with a variety of stacked linens and labeled storage bins. And store matching sheet sets *within* their pillowcases (like on the second shelf!) so you aren't digging when you get a phone call with SURPRISE! Your in-laws are 30 minutes away.

    28. Move the cleaning supplies out of your laundry room cabinets (the perfect place for spare linens!) and re-home them in this super slim rolling organizer that can go between your washer and dryer or between a machine and the wall. Either way, it'll take up just a teeny amount of space.

    29. Throw toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, really WHATEVER won't stay nicely put on a shelf using its own weight into a wire basket you can easily see through. That way when your partner's yelling from the bathroom bc there's no toilet paper you can come to the rescue even faster!

    30. Throw like items into ~attractive~ bins (and label them!) on shelves in a utility or office closet. AND if you have the room, you can spy a broom/mop holder on that left wall!!!

    31. Mount a battery organizer/tester inside your utility cabinet (or the closest cabinet to your biggest junk drawer) to free up some drawer space in a gratuitous display of efficiency.

    32. And dump other junk drawer randos into a compact organizer case to give you MUCH easier access to that huge eraser you're going to need after you tried to help your kid with their math homework. (Why is math different now?!)

    33. Bring some order to your cabinet shelves in a variety of rooms (even the bathroom or home office!) with some soft divided organizers that are actually made for dresser drawers.

    34. Surface the smaller essentials for way less metallic digging with an hanging filing cabinet tray. Who knew you already had so many paper clips?! Not you.

    35. But if you need to lock up some sensitive materials and don't have the room for a filing cabinet, opt for a locking organizer you can put on a shelf.

    36. Shut away any chemicals (think cleaners, paint, paint thinners, gardening chemicals, etc.), in a LOCKABLE cabinet in the garage so pets and kids can't get into them.

    37. If you're lacking on tool storage, mount an open tool cabinet above your workbench where you can dock those lil' investments within reach, lest another Saturday morning project get derailed by a hunt for your drill/driver.

    38. Gather up your magnetic tools onto magnetic strips that'll work on either the inside or outside of garage cabinet doors for super fast grabbing while you're working on a project.

    39. Store hardware in a slim container you can shove onto a cabinet shelf but take out to find that specific wall anchor you're looking for when you finally getting around to installing a gallery wall in your dining room.

    40. And consider moving space-hogging items you only use maybe once a season — or even less — to some overhead storage shelves. Yep, you'll still be able to park your care in the garage!
