28 Ways To Make Doing Laundry So Much Easier

Even stuff that'll replace your iron and help you neatly fold clothes! What a dream.

Hey! While we try to keep our posts updated as much as we can, this post is actually from 2018, so we can't guarantee that the pricing and/or availability of the products featured are accurate. For our most up-to-date recommendations, check out the 2019 version of this post!

    1. Invest in a double hamper with built-in laundry bags for separating colors from the get-go.

    2. Encourage kids (or adults!) to put away their dirty laundry in one spot with a cool hamper they'll be excited to use.

    3. If doing laundry requires a round-the-house journey or climbing stairs, get a hip-hugging laundry basket to make the job less of a strain.

    4. Take a longer journey to the washing machines? Look for an easy-to-carry laundry bag or a cart that won't be a total pain to lug to your building's laundry room or your local laundromat.

    5. Post an ~attractive~ sign that details the meanings behind care symbols because there's no use in learning another language just to wash a shirt.

    6. And print this out too so you have a quick guide for effectively treating a stain before you wash it the first time.

    7. Speaking of treating stains, carry a Tide To Go pen with you at all times so you can pre-treat *appropriate* stains before they set!

    8. If the normal stain fighter you've been buying for years doesn't seem to cut it, try a new one to tackle your family's messy offenses, like this all-natural, biodegradable wonder.

    9. Keep the thing that cleans your things in fighting condition with machine-cleaning tablets to help tackle dirt and detergent buildup for an efficient cleaning the first cycle.

    10. And prevent buildup in the first place by swapping your fabric softener with wool balls that'll do the same thing as the sheets or liquid you've been using for as long as you can remember.

    11. Regularly clean out your lint trap with a handy vent brush so you can get into the nooks and crannies.

    12. Stop gooey, wasteful messes in their tracks by strapping a drip catcher on your liquid detergent bottle.

    13. Slide a multi-use cart into narrow gaps between machines and walls so you'll have all your products right where you need them when you're beating the clock on a setting stain.

    14. Make sure piles of clean clothes don't take a tumble to the floor thanks to a laundry guard you can set up on top of your machine.

    15. Protect bras by washing them in special bags because you and I both know that washing them by hand once a week is not happening.

    16. Do unto your sneakers as you'd have others do unto you with a special sneaker bag that won't leave your laces a tangled mess.

    17. Toss pairs of socks into mesh laundry bags meant for delicates so they stay grouped together! At last!

    18. Track down solo socks faster with this adorable ~sole mates~ sign for reuniting pairs!

    19. Flip dark clothes inside out before washing to help prevent fading.

    20. Zip up any zippers before you throw stuff in the wash. Those teeth can wreak havoc on other items if they're left unzipped!

    21. Avoid wrestling with your iron thanks to a magnetic ironing pad you can fit on top of your front-loading machine. Talk about a one-stop shop!

    22. De-wrinkle items faster with a steamer for your nicer goods or wrinkle-release spray for your hardier items. (Also, ironing is a total pain.)

    23. Or if you have more important things to do, throw a dry, wrinkled garment in the dryer with an ice cube or two to straighten it out.

    24. Lay sweaters fly to dry. This hanging sweater dryer will afford you some extra drying space out of thin air.

    25. Work with LOTS of room for line drying items thanks to this wall-mount folding rack with a 60 lbs., capacity and 22.5 linear feet of drying space.

    26. Corral your clothespins into this adorable mini dress with an incredibly helpful cutout so you won't be left holding a wet garment while searching for a means to hang it on the line!

    27. Fold clothes in a snap thanks to this handy folder that'll make everything look so neat and uniform once you file it away in your drawer.

    28. Tidy up that hanger pile with a dedicated stacker that seems like something you don't need, but will make getting clean laundry back in your closet sooo much faster.

Your jealous/creepy neighbor wondering why you're spending a lot less time air drying stuff in your yard.
