Rachel Zegler's "Snow White" Controversy Deepens With The Release Of A Speculated Apology Video

    Last week, actor Rachel Zegler sparked controversy thanks to her comments about the 2024 adaptation of Snow White. Her thoughts on the movie quickly led to people online sharing their opinions.

    In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor labelled the 1937 version as "extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for." TikTok users questioned this statement, asking why women have to always choose between love and power.

    Amidst the backlash, Entertainment Tonight have posted a TikTok compiling footage of Rachel Zegler sharing how grateful she is.

    The TikTok begins with a tearful video of the actor saying "I never wanted to come off as me being ungrateful for the opportunities I have." This is then followed by, "As a huge Disney fan like all of you, this is the biggest dream come true."

    Due to recent actor strikes, Rachel is unable to comment on this situation. Thus, the use of old clips has lead to users in the comments speculating that this is an attempted response from her PR team to dampen the backlash.

    One TikTok user has responded sharing that she had "mixed feelings" towards the video stating, "this poor girl rose to fame very quickly and doesn't know how to handle it."

    She ends the video by saying: "do I personally believe that this is her apology video? That this girl is grateful for everything that she has? No," adding "she's done nothing but shit on the entire premise of the film. I think it's a complete PR stunt."

    With no official apology as of yet, the speculation that this is damage control has filled the internet with even more concerns over Disney's new adaptation before it's even been released.
