Rachel Zegler reacted to criticism around her casting in the upcoming live-action version of Snow White.
You might remember: Rachel's casting previously sparked backlash among fans who felt a white actor should play the role. Then criticism erupted again this weekend following a report that the seven dwarfs would be replaced by a group of diverse, magical figures. The report was accompanied by a photo of the alleged group, showing actors of varying statures, races, and genders.
Amid the backlash, Rachel took to Twitter to respond and took a moment to recognize the people who weren't bashing the film online.
“Extremely appreciative of the love I feel from those defending me online," she began.
Rachel then kindly requested that people avoid tagging her in the "nonsensical discourse" surrounding her casting. “I really, truly do not want to see it," she continued.
Rachel also included an old photo of her dressed up as Snow White along with various others from her childhood.
"I leave you with these photos! I hope every child knows they can be a princess no matter what," Rachel concluded.
