28 Spices And Foods That'll Give You Some Serious Flavor

Goya? I don't even know ya.

    1. A bottle of Loisa Organic Sazón, a full-flavored seasoning made with oregano, cumin, garlic, coriander, achiote, and a touch of sea salt for a rich flavor you can use on almost anything. Sazón is a household staple in nearly every Latinx home I know, it makes everything delicious, and this version of it is not only SO flavorful but it uses no MSG, no preservatives, no artificial stuff, and its vegan! Plus, it's a Latinx-owned brand!

    2. A variety pack of A Dozen Cousins ready-to-eat seasoned beans, a delicious (like holy moly delicious) recipe of a dinner staple. The founder based his flavorful creations off his own Creole, Caribbean, and Latin kitchen — and man, are they delicious. Plus you can just plop one of the bags in the microwave for 60 seconds and bam they're ready to go.

    3. A jar of Matiz Sofrito that's made from a family recipe that includes tomatoes slow roasted in olive oil for over three hours. Sofrito is most traditionally used in the Spanish dish paella but it's incredible as a sauce for meats, fish, eggs, and pasta.

    4. A gluten-free, vegan, and organic bag of Anthony's Coconut Milk Powder you can use to make some incredible cream sauces. It's basically the same thing as that canned coconut milk but in a powdered form so it can easily be incorporated into more recipes!

    5. A bottle of the best. THE. BEST. seasoning the world will ever know (it's my personal favorite if you couldn't tell). Tajin uses a mix of spicy, tangy, and salty flavors to make anything you sprinkle it on fantastic. My mouth is literally salivating at the thought of it on a piece of cucumber.

    6. A jar of Seattle based chef, Eric Rivera's Sazón — I know we've already covered Sazón but Chef Rivera has put his spin on it and created amazing variations of the classic staple, like a saffron Sazón and a spicy Sazón, that I couldn't not include. Also, if you're ever in Seattle, visiting his restaurant Addo might change your life!

    7. A big ol' jar of El Mexicano Carne Asada Seasoning — if you ever wondered why carne asada was SO much better at your local Mexican restaurant than whatever you were trying to concoct at home, it's because of this! Just sprinkle this beef seasoning on both sides of a skirt or thin-sliced steak, then marinate it in a mixture of beer, sliced onions, cilantro, and lime juice. After you grill it, enjoy with your favorite tortillas — you're welcome.

    8. A jar of Inca's Food Aji Amarillo Paste, a specialty from Peru this one-way ticket to flavor town is high in vitamin C, antioxidants, bold and spicy flavors. It's made using a unique hot pepper grown in the Andes.

    9. A container of Happy Belly Celery Salt, a blend of salt and celery seed that gives a bold and distinctive flavor that's savory, slightly bittersweet, herbal, and grassy. It's especially good sprinkled on potato salad, coleslaw, and cocktails (bloody Marys anyone?) but could honestly go on so many things.

    10. A hot blend of Slap Ya Mama Louisiana Style Cajun Seasoning made with just enough spice and so much great flavor your food won't know what hit it. It goes great on a variety of seafoods and stews but it's also been known to liven things up when you're making chicken.

    11. A bottle of 365 Everyday Value, Everything Bagel Seasoning made with all the flavors you love from your favorite morning carb without the bulk of all that bread — it's REALLY great on avocado, in a yogurt sauce, or just sprinkled on some buttered toast.

A bottle of 365 Everyday Value, Everything Bagel Seasoning.

    12. A fantastic Gourmet Fries Seasonings Salt and Vinegar — if you love salt and vinegar chips (🙋) then behold this little miracle! It's basically the same flavor from our favorite chips except now it can go on fries, popcorn, whatever you want!

    13. A smokey Cooking with my Doctor Adobo seasoning made using moringa and turmeric which are known to enhance digestion and metabolism. It also has a blend of paprika, pepper, onion, garlic, cumin, and annatto so it'll leave your food tasting SO delicious.

    18. A bottle of the yummiest Secret Aardvark Habanero Sauce, because we all know that one person who just loves hot sauce a little too much — it's you, you're that one person.

    20. A bottle of Tablespoon Provisions By Knorr Harissa Seasoning — made with no artificial preservatives or MSG, this addition will add spicy and complex flavors thanks to its mix of smoky red chilis, cayenne, coriander, and garlic. It's a popular flavor for many North African dishes, like couscous.

    21. A bottle of El Chilerito Chamoy. Chamoy is honestly one of my favorite flavors, I've had it on mango, in ice cream and drinks, on chips, and as part of my favorite candy. It's a spicy, peppery flavor that's most popularly used on top of fresh fruit. It. Is. So. Good.

    25. A canister of Traeger Grills Seasoning and BBQ Coffee Rub, which, tbh, confused me at first. Coffee? As a rub? But I guess I'm just late to this party because it's actually a fantastic blend of coffee and black pepper flavors that complement everything from beef to veggies.
