19 Facts About Luis Miguel To Hold You Over Until Season Two Of His Series Comes Out

Luismi is the best pop star to have ever graced a stage — don't @ me.

Luis Miguel's sweet sweet serenades were the soundtrack of every Saturday morning cleaning session I had as a child. He was (and still is) El Sol de Mexico, and we took that very seriously in my household.

But it wasn't until I watched, and then rewatched, Luis Miguel, La Serie that I was reminded of just how many hits he graced us with!

I mean, "La Chica Del Bikini Azul" is a freakin' bop and the video has aged magnificently.

For those of you not in the know, Luis Miguel, La Serie is an **authorized** biographical series (Luis Miguel is an executive producer) that stars Diego Boneta as the always super-private iconic singer as we follow his chaotic, oftentimes dramatic, career.

It also stars Óscar Jaenada as Luis Miguel's infamous father, Juanpa Zurita as his younger brother, and a slew of other amazing actors. It's such a sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, jaw-dropping show! Luismi's life was basically a telenovela. I don't even think they needed writers for this show.

Season two doesn't air until 2020, which like...rude! So while we wait, here are some facts about Luismi that will remind you why we love him so damn much.

1. He's a sommelier and he released his own vintage of wine, Único. Luis Miguel, a Cabernet Sauvignon.

There is currently a bottle for sale on eBay for $3,300.

2. He dated Mariah Carey for like three freakin' years.

You probably already knew that, but did you know they **almost** released a duet together?? According to the New York Daily News, After Tonight off Mariah's Rainbow album was supposed to feature Luis Miguel's vocal stylings but ultimately it didn't...whomp, whomp, whomp. They dated from 1999 through 2001 and Mariah even talked about it on Regis and Kathie Lee.

3. Luis Miguel's mother disappeared under some very suspicious circumstances in 1986 and her whereabouts are still unknown.
