Priyanka Chopra Just Responded To Critics Who Said She “Overshared” Her Wedding To Nick Jonas

“Don’t I have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed without people saying that I’m using my marriage?”

We all know that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are a seriously adorable couple. They got married late last year after seven months of dating and have been blessing us with cute-couple selfies on Instagram ever since.

Of course, when they got married, Priyanka and Nick made sure to share plenty of photos from the ceremonies.

Because, duh — you would too if you wore a 75-foot-long veil and were marrying a Jonas Brother.

But, at the time, the couple did face some criticism from people who said they were “oversharing”. One article even went so far as to accuse Priyanka of using her relationship with Nick to further her career.

Priyanka didn’t address it at the time, but in a recent interview with the Sunday Times, she opened up about how the criticism made her feel.

She pointed out that she’d still be sharing moments from her wedding if she wasn’t famous, and public scrutiny shouldn’t prevent her from doing that.

If I wasn’t a famous person and I’d just got married, don’t you think my Insta would have photos of me and my husband? Just because I’m famous, don’t I have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed without people saying that I’m using my marriage?

“I gave up my right to privacy when I became a public person, it’s the deal you make with the devil,” Priyanka continued. “But trust me, there are lots of things I still keep personal.”

She also said while Nick, his brother Joe, and Joe’s wife Sophie Turner were furious at the article that called her a “scam artist”, Priyanka herself didn’t let it bother her.

Let’s face it: If you had a wedding like Priyanka and Nick’s, you wouldn’t stop sharing it either.
