What was everybody searching on Google in 2018?

by ,

It's that time of the year when we find out what everybody was searching in 2018. Google just dropped their "year in search" stats, but can you guess who or what topped their lists?

Fox

Below are 10 pairs of celebs, movies, and TV shows. All you have to do is guess which in each pair was Googled more in 2018. Sounds easy, right?

  1. MEGHAN MARKLE or
    KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Meghan Markle!

Thanks to the royal wedding, Meghan was the number one most-Googled person of 2018. Khloé comes in fifth on the list, probably because she gave birth to her daughter True back in April amid rumours her baby daddy, Tristan Thompson, had cheated on her.

  2. BLACK PANTHER or
    INFINITY WAR?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Black Panther!

Marvel released not one, but two big hitters this year, with Infinity War crossing the $2b mark at the box office and Black Panther scooping just shy of $1.5b. But while Thanos' destruction grossed the most money altogether, it was T'Challa who had people talking — Black Panther nabbed the top spot of Google's most searched movies list, while Infinity War came in at number four.

  3. NAOMI OSAKA or TRISTAN THOMPSON?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Tristan Thompson!

Naomi's US Open win caused a huge spike in searches of her name, leaving her at number seven on the list of most-Googled athletes of 2018. But basketball player Tristan finds himself at number one — probably thanks to his relationship with a Kardashian.

  4. PETE DAVIDSON or NOAH CENTINEO?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Pete Davidson!

Noah comes in fifth on Google's list of most-searched actors thanks to his breakout roles in Netflix's To All The Boys I've Loved Before and Sierra Burgess is a Loser — but Pete is third, most likely due to his whirlwind relationship with Ariana Grande.

  5. THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE or ALTERED CARBON

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Altered Carbon!

Netflix released some of the most popular TV shows of the year, scoring multiple entries on the most searched of the year. Altered Carbon landed at number two, while The Haunting of Hill House took the sixth spot.

  6. VENOM or
    DEADPOOL 2?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Deadpool 2!

Ryan Reynolds just about had more appeal than Tom Hardy, with Deadpool 2 securing second place on the most searched movies of 2018. Venom, meanwhile, came in at number three.

  7. CARDI B or
    TRAVIS SCOTT?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Cardi B!

Both Cardi and Travis released albums, had babies, and engaged in feuds with Nicki Minaj in 2018, but Cardi beat out Travis on Google's list of most-searched musicians. She comes in second, whereas he can be found at number four.

  8. THE NUN or
    A QUIET PLACE?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

Horror movies were some of the most popular films of the year, with The Nun and A Quiet Place making the list of most searched movies in 2018. But it was The Nun that had more hype, coming in at number eight while A Quiet Place bagged number nine.

  9. HAILEY BALDWIN
    or NICK JONAS?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Hailey Baldwin!

Both got married this year — Hailey to Justin Bieber, and Nick to Priyanka Chopra — but Hailey comes in eighth on the list of most-Googled people of 2018. Nick isn't on that list at all, but he ~does~ appear tenth in the most-Googled musicians list.

  10. A STAR IS BORN or BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY?

    Correct!
    Wrong!

    It was Bohemian Rhapsody!

Bohemian Rhapsody might've seemed to fly under the radar in comparison to A Star is Born, but it actually came in fifth on the list of most searched movies, while the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper led movie slotted in at number six.
