Alicia Vikander Admits There "Aren't Enough Women" In The "Tomb Raider" Reboot

"I was on this island going, 'There's not enough women, where are they?'"

If you didn't know, Alicia Vikander is starring as Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider reboot, and frankly, she's badass AF in it.

So when Alicia appeared on BBC's The One Show on Monday to discuss the film, she obviously talked about how it feels to play a character who kicks ass.

"I used to play the games when I was a kid and I loved adventure movies like Indiana Jones and The Mummy," she said, adding that playing Lara Croft was a dream "in another universe".

"I hope we're moving into a time where we can be surprised," she continued. "To see female characters in these kind of films... It's definitely a big change happening."

But when host Alex Jones expressed her disappointment at the lack of female roles in the film, Alicia admitted that it was something she'd noticed too.

"The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was that you were this brilliant main lead, and then everybody else, bar two, who had minor roles, were men," the presenter said.

"I got to work with Kristin Scott Thomas, and she is an extraordinary actress, but me too. I agree," Alicia replied.
