    16 TV Shows To Stream Right Now If You Need To Fill The Void That "GoT" Left Behind

    Nothing is as good as Game of Thrones, but these shows are pretty close.

    1. The Magicians (2015-present)

    What it's about: Quentin Coldwater enrolls at Brakebills University, a school for magicians. But, mastering his classes is the least of his worries when the fictional land he read about as a child turns out to be real — along with the monsters that live there.

    How it's similar to Game of Thrones: Since there are magicians, there's that fantastical element. Also, when they enter into Fillory, the fictional land that's not-so fictional, there's a war over who belongs on the throne.

    7. American Gods (2017-present)

    What it's about: Shadow Moon, an ex-convict, becomes the driver and bodyguard of the mysterious Mr. Wednesday, who is actually the god Odin. Shadow is caught up in a battle for dominance between the old gods and the new.

    How it's similar to Game of Thrones: Does the fight for power with a fantastical element ring any bells?

    What it's about: The life of the young wizard Merlin and his friendship with Arthur, the future king of Camelot.

    How it's similar to Game of Thrones: We got a Mad King, AKA King Uther, who banished magic from Camelot. We got the Prince Who Was Promised, AKA Prince Arthur, who's destined to bring magic back to Camelot. AND WE GOT DRAGONS. Same, same, but different.
