Update: It Turns Out That The Keanu Reeves Interview Where He Said He's Lonely Is Fake

Reeves' publicist has since announced that the interview referenced in the original version of this post was "fabricated" by Star2.com

You know Keanu Reeves: star of the John Wick action franchise, iconic films like Point Break and Speed, and of course, 90% of the reason why we're still obsessed with The Matrix.

Like, even if you haven't gotten in on the John Wick hype, you've definitely seen at least ONE of those movies. It's basically required by law.

So last week, when this interview with Malaysia's Star2.com made it seem like Keanu Reeves had admitted he was a "lonely guy," the internet was both freaked out AND concerned.

Because one would **think** that being on that level of Super Successful Action Movie Hunkiness = never having to worry about your love life again, or at least, being constantly besieged by other beautiful, successful people who want to date you.

But it turns out that interview never happened — apparently, Keanu Reeves' publicist told HuffPost a few days ago that the entire story was "fabricated" and the actor did not give an interview to Star2.com.

One of the fake quotes from the interview: "You mean romantic love? You know, I’m the lonely guy. I don’t have anyone in my life. But if it does occur, I would respect and love the other person; hopefully it’ll happen for me."

And listen, as someone who fell for this fake interview very hard, I am feeling a lot of mixed emotions...
