A Toddler Just Interrupted A News Segment And It's The Funniest Thing You'll See All Day

"Iris, who will do whatever she chooses to do over the next couple of minutes."

When you work in live news, sometimes things don't always go according to plan and that's exactly what happened during the ITV Lunchtime News when a toddler ran around during an interview.

The joys of live TV! When children take over your desk when you're halfway through an interview @alstewitn

Host Alastair Stewart was interviewing Lucy Wronker and her son George about milk allergies, but before Stewart could ask his first question Iris, Lucy's daughter, was already running around the news desk.

Stewart began asking Lucy about both Iris and George's allergy to cows milk and whether early detection would have helped the family, but despite the serious topic Iris was having fun all to herself.

Like a true professional Stewart maintained full attention during the interview, however when he turned his questions to George, Iris was quick to steal the spotlight.

By the end of the interview Iris finally made it on top of the desk and Stewart couldn't keep from smiling as he thanked the family for coming on the show.

Fans of the show began to voice their appreciation on Twitter for the much needed laugh the interview gave them.

@itvnews @alstewitn Just watched this and both me and my wife cried with laughter. Thank you so much😄😄👍🏽

Some commented on Stewarts ability to keep it together despite the distraction.

This kid crawling all over the desk during the ITV News just now + @alstewitn 's reaction = heroic Wednesday scenes.
