Disneyland's Star Tours Has Been Updated To Take You To "The Rise Of Skywalker" Locations — Here's What It's Like

Nothing like a leisurely tour through a major space battle, amirite?

FYI, this post contains mild spoilers for The Rise of Skywalker. So if you want to go into the movie knowing nothing...turn away now!

OK, now that we've got that out of the way, let me walk you through Star Tours and its new The Rise of Skywalker update!

After buckling in to the Starspeeder 1000, you'll find yourself on the usual ~accidental~ adventure with C-3PO to a galaxy far, far away...but this time you're being thrown right into the events and locations from The Rise of Skywalker!

The first stop is the ocean moon of Kef Bir — where the Death Star II crash landed after the battle of Endor. This is also where Rey and Kylo have an epic lightsaber duel in the new movie (although your Star Tours visit to Kef Bir takes places at a different time than the movie).

Now, inside the Death Star II you'll actually have a surprise encounter with a dianoga (the one-eyed monster inside the trash compactor from A New Hope).

After a narrow escape from the dianoga, and a jump to lightspeed, there's a transmission from everyone's favorite smooth-talkin' scoundrel Lando Calrissian.

Lando basically recruits your tour shuttle to help The Resistance and you'll make the next lightspeed jump right into the middle of the battle on Exegol from The Rise of Skywalker, which is IN-TENSE (but fun!).

One final jump to lightspeed crash lands you back to the Star Tours docking bay, where Ace (who was supposed to be piloting your tour) marches over and says, "Hey! That's my ship!" LOL.

Star Tours will exclusively use The Rise of Skywalker locations of Kef Bir and Exegol ONLY for the near future. But, eventually, those two locations will be worked into the full "jukebox" random rotation of planets you can visit on the ride.

And you can experience The Rise of Skywalker with Star Tours yourself at Disney Parks worldwide now! Just visit Disney Parks to get your theme park tickets.
