It's Time We Talk About The Most Underrated Christmas Movie Of Our Time

Don't @ me.

Christmas is literally a week away. That means it's time for nothing but Christmas music, hot chocolate, and watching an unlimited amount of Christmas movies.

When you're picking out some movies to watch, I'm sure you're thinking of Elf, Home Alone, and A Christmas Story — just to name a few.

But the movie you SHOULD be watching is a Disney Channel Original Movie classic, The Ultimate Christmas Present.

Should you be unfamiliar with this gem, allow me to break it down for you: Best friends Allie and Sam find a high-tech machine in the woods that controls the weather. Snow, rain, sunshine, you name it — this machine can make it happen.

After figuring out the gears and whatnot, the pair decide to have some fun with it. And with Christmas right around the corner, they decide on the obvious choice of weather: snow.

Living in LA and dreaming of a snow-filled Christmas, the girls take the machine outside, turn it on, and BAM. LA has its first White Christmas in... forever! YAY!

BUT THERE'S A CATCH. Unbeknownst to them, the contraption belongs to none other than Santa Claus. Once he finds out it's missing, he sends out his trusty elf sidekicks, Crumpet and Sparky, to get the machine back. Are you hooked yet?

This movie is already incredible, but the elves really make it great. They're funny, witty, and kind-hearted. All things you want in an elf you'd meet because you stole Santa's weather machine!

Basically, this movie was (and is) every kid's dream. It has everything you think of when it comes to Christmas. Snow...

...presents*...

...more snow...

...Santa & Mrs. Claus...

...and being with family on Christmas morning!

Now, I dunno about you, but I LOVED this movie. When it premiered, I was just 12 years old, and it filled my Christmas-loving heart with JOY. Like, I don't know how else to say it: it was an instant gem.

I'm from Arizona, where it only snows in certain parts of the state, so seeing snow come out of virtually nowhere was insane to see. Going from sunlight to SNOWlight? Sign me up, man.

Sadly, it only aired a few more times in the following years before being forgotten about altogether. Join me as I cry happy tears over the fact that this movie existed in the first place.

So, I hope you leave with this thought roaming around in your Christmas-crazed mind: The Ultimate Christmas Present is a classic, and should join the ranks of Home Alone, Miracle on 34th Street, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. See ya!
