15 Times Director Britney Spears Changed The Course Of Cinematography In 2017

The impact never stops.

If you've been following Britney Spears on Instagram this year, you've probably noticed she's been ushering in a golden era for short-form cinematography thanks to her remarkable creative instincts and ability to translate her distinguished artistry into tangible and titillating visuals:

Here are some of Spears' greatest creations from the year, all of which have altered the direction of cinematography...forever:

1. In February, one of Spears' first visions from the year was riddled with artsy illusions and more questions than answers. She's walking on her hands, but why? Her destination is the painting, but why? Incredible.

2. On March 1, Spears gave us a rare glimpse into her own world: A never-ending, fast-paced blur starring — you guessed it — Britney Jean. Would we ever be let inside again?

3. Days later, Spears set up her camera in the foyer of her own home to capture the first of an extensive series of her one-woman runway show. Upon dissection, the footage reveals the many shades of Spears' individual-self, a reoccurring motif in the series:

4. Later that month, Spears stayed behind the camera, super-cutting footage of one of her begotten sons in an inspirational clip, encouraging viewers to follow their bliss:

5. In the second installment of her runway series, Spears bravely moved from her foyer to her hallway, defying rules of continuity and cohesion for her own artistic vision. The video begs the question: "Does the environment make the artist or does the artist make the environment?"

6. In April, Britney posted a beautiful clip, modeling the rise and fall of the phoenix — a rather chilling, yet inspirational metaphor coming from Spears:

7. On May 19, Britney continued her runway series in an undisclosed location, pulling back the layers of Spears' guarded identity and dove into extreme rawism:

8. In May, Britney channeled a cat, something too deep to flesh out during this current political climate:

9. Later in May, Spears lent her director's eye to craft a romance-short that can be only interpreted and deciphered by the eye of its viewer:

10. In June, Britney ventured into one of her longest visuals to-date, flexing her newly-honed storytelling muscles to the coo's of Toni Braxton in Thailand. With an exhilarating ending that showcases Spears overcoming the fear of unknown, the viewer's left wondering, "When will your fave?"

11. Toward the end of June, Britney found inspiration from the early days of motion pictures: the silent years. In this comedic throwback to the days of Charlie Chaplan, Britney reinvented the silent film while rearranging her hotel room, only to realize the room was better before she rearranged it:

12. As summer began to fade and fall began to rise in the first days of September, Britney reflected the lull of the overlapping seasons in a fitness-focused visual; a visual that cancelled her most critical of haters:

13. Britney reintroduced her runway series mid-September with a finely-crafted clip developed under the blanket of an eery nighttime sky. Will we ever know the symbolism behind the balcony setting, or will it remain a secret shared only between Spears and the camera?

14. Perhaps in her most visionary output, Spears used her directorial eye to combine one art form with another: film and painting. Spears went on to auction off the expressionist flower painting for $10,000 in an effort to raise money for the Vegas Cares Memorial Fund.

15. And finally, in Britney's latest and most personal effort, the inspired director hints at hope for a dying world, all while wrapping up her runway series with one last gorgeous outfit change:
