I see how for people who have actual eating disorders, these pictures could be encouraging, cause they might see the photo-shopped women as being glamorous role models.
Ithink they’re more useful to show how the _drawings_ of the thin women are not something to aspire to. For people who think they need to be thinner, showing the way an actual human would look with the kind of body fat from the drawings might be shocking enough to help them see how unrealistic it is to try to emulate those drawings. Like, you might think that the ladies in the drawings look pretty, but if you don’t actually have an eating disorder yourself, just feel that you need to be slimmer, you’d be shocked to see the anorexic-looking women in the photo-shopped pictures and change your mind about trying to look like the drawing.
