I am so sorry for the loss of your sister, but I am so glad you wrote this. I am truly astonished that someone else has the same planning tendencies as I have! I was a freshman in high school when I bought a book that has a full page for each day of the year, intended for a person to write about special events year after year. I find myself jotting notes about what I did that day or something significant— from movies that I watch to deaths I’ve grieved. And crazy coincidences always appear— is it truly just irony that I got a positive pregnancy test on the same date in May that I first kissed a boy? Who knows, but I always take them as signs. I also totally agree about paper evidence! As much as I love Timehop and Facebook Memories, they feel so shallow compared to my date book. Thanks so much for writing this, Helen! Makes me feel a little less crazy. ;-)
