Which Underrated Horror Film Should You Get Scared Shitless By?

Pick a popular (and not at all underrated) horror movie.

This is easily one of Australia's hidden film gems. It features some very unnerving torture scenes, but it's also just so goddamn good.

_The Loved Ones_

This film follows the story of a teenager who has vagina dentata, aka teeth in her vagina. Yes, the plot of this film is definitely unique, but that's what makes it such a fun ride.

_Teeth_

After James Wan and Leigh Whannell co-created _Saw_, they worked together on this creepy little picture, which revolves around ventriloquism. It also features a nice little Easter egg from _Saw_.

_Dead Silence_

If you already find children pretty unsettling, this movie will not help improve your opinion. We don't want to reveal too much, but this little girl is 100% as creepy as she looks on the poster.

_Orphan_

This 2004 film follows the story of a woman who accidentally gets locked inside the London Underground. Needless to say, after watching this, you'll find yourself avoiding public transport at all costs.

_Creep_

Despite being a remake of _A Tale of Two Sisters_, this film will still keep you guessing. It's not very gory, so if you prefer psychological horror films over bloodfests, then you've found your match!

_The Uninvited_

This is based on a novella of the same name by Stephen King, so you know you're in good hands. But be warned, because _The Mist_ features one of the most heart-wrenching endings of all time, so brace yourself.

_The Mist_

This movie is based on Ed and Lorraine Warren's investigation into the Snedeker family of Southington, Connecticut, in 1986. And although it doesn't actually feature any references to the Warrens, it's still worth a watch.

_The Haunting in Connecticut_

Set in the abandoned underground railway tunnels of Sydney, this Australian documentary-style film will probably put you off venturing Down Under.
