Can We Please Talk About The Bentonville Film Festival?

More women? More diversity? YES PLEASE!!

This year marks the second year of the annual Bentonville Film Festival! Never heard of it? Well, strap in, folks, because you are in for a treat.

The Bentonville Film Festival (or BFF), based in Bentonville, Arkansas, is a fresh, new film festival co-created by actor Geena Davis and producer Trevor Drinkwater. The festival champions women and diversity in film and promotes inclusion and equality.

Sponsored by Walmart, Coca-Cola, AMC Theaters and SO many more, the festival offers numerous panels, interviews, and activities for all attendees.

There's even an annual League of Their Own reunion softball game at Arvest Ballpark!

Last year the reunion included Geena Davis (Dottie Hinson) and Rosie O'Donnell (Doris Murphy)! This year six more of the original Rockford Peaches are coming to the reunion game!

Aside from all of those activities, there's also the film contest!

In an interview with Variety , Geena Davis talks about how the winners of the film competition are awarded guaranteed distribution of their film! That's unheard of... like in the entire world!

So, long story short: The Bentonville Film Festival is beautiful and amazing and every one should know about it! I mean, what other film festival have you ever heard of that focuses entirely on the equality of women and minorities?

The festival lasts until May 8th, so try and stop by because, from the looks of it, you'll have an incredible time. Or you can also show your support and learn more at the festival's website, and also the Facebook page.

    Go equality! <3
