The 27-year-old actor revealed that the decision came after starring in his latest project — the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room — took a large toll on him mentally, and said it "did break" him.

Well, during a recent appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, Tom clarified that he has actually been on his hiatus for a while now and that his yearlong break from acting would be over soon.

Tom started by making it clear that reports saying he decided to take the year off because of negative reviews of The Crowded Room were false. He said, "It's so funny. Obviously, The Crowded Room came out, we didn't have very favorable reviews, so the press story was that I have taken this year off because of the reviews."

He then went on to clarify that he has been on his hiatus for quite some time: "But I'm eight months into my year off. I've been chilling at home in London, going to Grand Prix, playing golf."

Tom then added that he wanted to give a "massive thank-you" to his fans and that the show now had a "94% on Rotten Tomatoes." He then went on to say, "I feel so grateful that I have a wonderful community of people that support me and are there for me. So I am honored and really excited for the rest of the show to come out."
