OMG! For The First Time In Its History, Disneyland Will Be Selling Alcohol

The happiest place on earth is about to get happier!

It goes without saying that Disneyland truly is the "Happiest Place on Earth."

And between all the fun rides, delicious treats (looking at you, Dole Whip) and other things Disneyland has to offer, there is one thing you might not have noticed that the park doesn't offer: ALCOHOL.

Okay, so while Disneyland does have a NO booze serving policy, there is technically one place you can order a drink inside the park, at Club 33...but that is exclusive to members only.

But, it looks like that is all going to change come next year with the addition of Galaxy's Edge (aka Star Wars Land). For the first time in its 63-year history, Disneyland will sell alcohol.

Yup, the galaxy far, far away will have a bar — called Oga’s Cantina — inside it where you can buy alcohol. And, according to Disney, they'll be serving "pilots, bounty hunters, smugglers, locals, and galactic travelers alike."

So why the change? Well according to Liz Jaeger, a spokesperson for the park, the decision to change the alcohol policy was made to make the new land as immersive as possible, saying:

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be a completely immersive true-to-story experience. Given our commitment to offering fans an immersive cantina experience, we felt this was an opportunity to offer alcohol and non-alcohol based beverages in the context of the story.

And while you'll now be able to buy yourself a drink inside Disneyland, you won't be able to take it out of the cantina. So no getting drunk while riding Splash Mountain!

So come next year, you'll be able to get lit alongside the most wretched hive of scum and villainy in the galaxy!
