5 Top Offices In Films And TV Shows

Do you know your Don Draper from Daniel Cleaver? Offices in TV shows and movies have been the place for many dramatic climaxes, romances and comedy moments in history. But the office furniture and interior design really makes the difference towards the atmosphere of any film or TV show.

Whether it's the extravagant home office of Vito Corleone in The Godfather or the zany world of Sit Up Britain in Bridget Jones Diary, it's safe to say choosing the right office furniture can really make a massive statement in a room. Corban Direct lists the top five offices in TV shows and movies:

The Godfather
The Don's office furniture is the epitome of class, capiche? Think Chesterfield sofas, armchairs and a traditional drinks cabinet filled with the finest tipples. Don't forget the mighty bookcases spanning the width of the Don's office - even he wants to chill out with a book sometimes. The Godfather mixes Italian grandeur and traditional 1940s design to create a sombre yet strangely inviting atmosphere. However, no matter how stylish The Godfather set is, a horse's head in your bed probably isn't the best interior design statement to make.

Mad Men
Whisky-downing, chain-smoking creative advertising director Don Draper certainly doesn't look after his health but he knows how to look after his office (or lair!). The standout feature in the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency office is the gorgeous dark ash office desk, complete with a 1960s lamp, telephone and buckets of retro style. The reception area is covered in dark wood walls with colourful sofas that wouldn't look out of place in the Google offices. The 1960s design featured in Mad Men is actually very "in" right now and looks like it will be for a while!

Anchorman
Seventies superstar anchorman Ron Burgandy is kind of a big deal...and so is the interior design of both his bachelor pad and office. To impress the ladies he claims to own "many leather bound books" which are situated on the swanky bookcases in the office of his mahogany apartment. In the film loveable fool Brick declares that he loves lamp - namely the 1970s masterpiece in the corner of Ron's office. Well, we better not let him near the Corban Direct lighting section!

Wolf of Wall Street
Set in the late 1980s and early 90s, this film was based on the real life events of stock broker and fraudster Jordan Belfort. The offices and home of Belfort reflected his crazy, extravagant lifestyle with postmodern art, sleek office desks and flashy decor. Unlike our hedonistic main character, his apartment office interior consists of clean, straight-edge lines - which actually work as a brilliant contrast. The sofas are the height of minimalism, as are the office cabinets and 50s-inspired office chairs. The clean-cut style is the perfect way to furnish your office, but it's probably best to bypass Belfort's lifestyle...

Bridget Jones Diary
We can't leave out poor old Bridget in this concise collection of great office interior design. The quirky 90s office design is apparent throughout the film, especially when she starts working at Sit Up Britain - a strange, and very 90s, TV show. Their office is decked out with technicolour sofas, interesting wall art and crazy desks. Luckily, there isn't an inflatable chair in sight because, let's face it, Bridget is far too classy for that.
