Can You Guess The Correct Name For These Body Parts?

The deltoid is a term used for the main muscle in the shoulder. It is a large rounded, triangular [muscle](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/deltoid) that is used to move the arm around.

The [axilla](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/axilla) refers to the armpit. It is directly under the joint where the arm connects to the shoulder. This is where some of our sweat glands reside. We all know what happens there!

Gingiva is the medical term for the [gums](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/gingiva). They consist of tissue and are found on top of the jaw bones. Remember to look after your gums guys!

The [zygomatic arch](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/zygomatic-arch) is a medical term for the cheekbone area. It is the bony arch at the outer border of the eye socket.

[Nares](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/nares) is the medical term for the nostrils, the openings of the nasal cavity. Hey you, get your finger out of your nares!

[Auricle](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/auricle) is a term for the outer visible portion of the ear. The auricle is also sometimes referred to as pinna. BRB just off to get my auricle pierced.

The navel is called the [umbilicus](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/umbilicus). It is right where your belly button is and also apparently a favourable place for fluff to collect.

The term [gluteus](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/gluteus) refers to all of the three large muscles that make up each buttock. Shake ya glutei!

The prefix [blepharo-](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/blepharo) refers to anything to do with the eyelid.

[Myocardium](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/myocardium) is a term that refers to the muscular tissue of the heart.

The [patella](http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/patella) is the medical term for the kneecap. It is a large bone that covers the front surface of the knee.

OMG stay away from anyone needing medical attention! You clearly have some studying to do. Get to it!

Oh well now, that wasn't too good was it. You need a little more practise before you start trying to examine any body parts.

Well not too shabby at all. If a friend wants advice on their dodgy knee you are totally qualified to impress them by using fancy words.

Holy moly you are basically a medical genius! You are now free to begin your blossoming career as a doctor!
