After the success of 2012's Wreck-It Ralph, there was no surprise when Disney announced a sequel – Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 – for November 2018.
And now that we're edging into summer, Disney have started dropping teaser images in anticipation of a new trailer that's coming soon.
One of the first looks at the movie was of a scene where all the Disney princesses appear together. I don't want to be dramatic, but this picture alone should be nominated for an Oscar.
Looking a bit closer, we can see Snow White, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Pocahontas.
As well as Elsa, Moana, Anna, and Belle.
And let's not forget about Rapunzel, Tiana, and Aurora.
So that's all of the princesses, right? Not quite...
And once people started to notice Mulan was missing, they weren't very happy.
Especially when they realised some of their other favourite characters, such as Ariel, appeared to be missing from the shot too.
Some people argued that Mulan isn't ~technically~ a princess. I, along with a lot of other people, refuse to hear this slander.
This particular exchange cleared up those rules a little.
Anyway, I found a picture from Disney's D23 Expo where the princesses came out on stage. From left to right we have the voice actors of Belle, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Moana, Vanellope von Schweetz (from Wreck-It Ralph), Anna, Merida, Tiana, Jasmine, and Ariel.
But interestingly the voice actors of Snow White, Cinderella, Elsa, and Aurora were not present, even though they are in the shot from the movie. Also, Merida doesn't appear in the scene but was in the D23 Expo lineup. Mulan, however, doesn't appear in either.
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! Mulan does appear in the cast list on IMDb.
This is me to Disney and Twitter right about now.
To try and clear this up, BuzzFeed have contacted Disney for comment. In the meantime, you have my permission to take a nap.
UPDATE
Disney have confirmed that "although not pictured in this shot Mulan and Merida will be in Ralph Breaks the Internet alongside the other Disney Princesses."
