Kylie Jenner is already enjoying the success of her latest beauty venture, with her new skincare line almost entirely sold out after just one week.
Kylie Skin, which launched last Wednesday, has already had to announce restock dates due to high demand. Currently, the only item still available to purchase is $10 makeup wipes.
As well as selling out, Kylie Skin has also received positive reviews from fans and beauty critics alike.
But the release of Kylie Skin hasn’t been without drama. In the lead-up to its debut, Kylie posted YouTube videos of the six individual products, which were met with a mixed reaction online.
One product in particular, the walnut face scrub, was criticised after Kylie recommended using it two or three times a week.
People also took issue with Kylie suggesting that the products were the “secret” behind her skin, especially considering her wealth and access to other resources.
Now Kylie is receiving even more criticism after posting a video where she can be seen washing her face with one of the products.
For a start, people said that Kylie wasn’t actually washing her face properly, especially considering the video lasted less than 40 seconds altogether.
But the real kicker came from the end of the video, when Kylie wiped her face with a white towel and revealed what appeared to be makeup stains.
Of course, people spotted the towel and weren’t shy about letting their opinions be heard.
However, some were convinced that Kylie would’ve seen the towel before posting the video and so accused her of doing it on purpose to create a buzz.
Aside from the apparent makeup stains, people also pointed out that the video was posted with an obvious filter, which they said defeated the purpose of promoting skincare products.
The reaction to Kylie Skin hasn’t been all negative, though. One person called the products “amazing” while others commended the quick turnaround.
