Kylie Jenner Is Facing Backlash Over Her Skincare Line After She Posted A Video Using The Products

“Imagine buying face wash from someone who doesn’t even know how to wash their face properly.”

Kylie Jenner is already enjoying the success of her latest beauty venture, with her new skincare line almost entirely sold out after just one week.

Kylie Skin, which launched last Wednesday, has already had to announce restock dates due to high demand. Currently, the only item still available to purchase is $10 makeup wipes.

As well as selling out, Kylie Skin has also received positive reviews from fans and beauty critics alike.

But the release of Kylie Skin hasn’t been without drama. In the lead-up to its debut, Kylie posted YouTube videos of the six individual products, which were met with a mixed reaction online.

One product in particular, the walnut face scrub, was criticised after Kylie recommended using it two or three times a week.

People also took issue with Kylie suggesting that the products were the “secret” behind her skin, especially considering her wealth and access to other resources.

*being a billionaire who gets consistent facial treatments by professionals as well as cosmetic enhancements like fillers and has access to expensive skincare products. My secret to a fresh face xo https://t.co/JPU3Vkw78l

Now Kylie is receiving even more criticism after posting a video where she can be seen washing her face with one of the products.

For a start, people said that Kylie wasn’t actually washing her face properly, especially considering the video lasted less than 40 seconds altogether.

@kylieskin Imagine buying face wash from someone who doesn't even know how to wash their face properly.

@kylieskin Shouldnt you wash your face for 1-2 minutes?

But the real kicker came from the end of the video, when Kylie wiped her face with a white towel and revealed what appeared to be makeup stains.

Of course, people spotted the towel and weren’t shy about letting their opinions be heard.

@kylieskin Sis the towel still has foundation left on it... 🤢😷

kylie babby... I support your hustle but this isn’t the right way to convince me to buy your product. The towel literally wiped your makeup off https://t.co/uFL8vvGTqU

However, some were convinced that Kylie would’ve seen the towel before posting the video and so accused her of doing it on purpose to create a buzz.

@kaypoetaa_ @kylieskin Yup, trying to get the buzz going lol. Any publicity is good publicity

@kylieskin i know u seent that foundation on the towel 🥴

Aside from the apparent makeup stains, people also pointed out that the video was posted with an obvious filter, which they said defeated the purpose of promoting skincare products.

@kylieskin Mam, the filter defeats the purpose of us seeing whatever effects your product has done to your skin...

@kylieskin Using a filter while selling skincare 🙄

The reaction to Kylie Skin hasn’t been all negative, though. One person called the products “amazing” while others commended the quick turnaround.

just finished all the steps for @kylieskin by @KylieJenner and I can honestly say it’s amazing and definitely worth the $125, my face feels amazing and so clean I’m so glad I found a new skincare routine 🥰💜

I literally ordered this at 9am yesterday and it just got here the next day by noon. wow😍❣️ @kylieskin @KylieJenner
