On Monday, it was announced that Marvel legend Stan Lee had died. He was 95.
Following the news, there was an outpouring of love on social media, with actors from the Marvel Universe leading the way.
However, actor Armie Hammer appeared a little sceptical about some of the posts flooding in online, seemingly criticising celebrities who paid tribute to Stan Lee by posting selfies with him. Celebrities who did just that included Tom Holland, Tom Hardy, Robert Downey Jr., and Hugh Jackman.
In a now deleted tweet, Armie said, with what appeared to be a hint of sarcasm, that he was "touched by all the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee".
The tweet soon became the subject of criticism, but Armie continued to say that "posting a selfie makes his death about you".
He then called for a "cultural revamp across the board".
Another reply asked if Mark Ruffalo's tribute to Stan Lee, which included a picture of his Hulk character from the Marvel franchise, was better.
To which Armie replied yes.
At this point though, the criticism of Armie's original tweet was rife, with people accusing him of making the moment about himself instead of the celebrities posting selfies.
Others responded to his tweet saying that he shouldn't police how people grieve.
Others who had used selfies as a tribute also responded, with one asking Armie to "let people pay their respects how they want to".
And even fans of Armie voiced their opinions on the matter.
