The Oscar Nominations Were Just Announced And Twitter Isn't Very Happy At All

"I'm going back to bed" appears to be a shared mood between some.

The 2019 Oscar nominations have just been announced, which means it's a day for both glory and misery for film buffs across the Twittersphere.

The Favourite and Roma lead the fray with 10 nods each. A Star is Born will fight it out for eight awards, as will Vice, while Black Panther ended up with seven nominations, including Best Picture.

But of course, not everybody was going to be pleased with the noms, and they weren't exactly shy about letting Twitter know...

Claire Foy, Justin Hurwitz, and Timothée Chalamet already left out of Oscar nominations? I’m going back to bed.

People felt very strongly about the Timothée Chalamet snub.

timothée chalamet stans contacting the academy in regards of timothée not even getting one oscar nom

Almost as strongly as the Paddington 2 warriors, who weren't about to watch injustice prevail.

Don't worry Paddington 2, you don't NEED industry recognition. You're the greatest film of all time in my eyes xx

Many pointed out the lack of diversity in some of the categories, in particular for directing, which included a grand total of zero women.

Also?????? Where are the women in the directing category?????? Like huzzah it ain't all white men but at the same time. ITS STILL ALL MEN. COME ON OSCARS.

Women got shut out of the Best Directing category again but what else is new.

But there were some people who found something to celebrate.

The best part of today's #OscarNoms is knowing Olivia Colman texted Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz with "We did it, bitches."

the favourite (2018) got 10 oscar nominations, LET'S CELEBRATE THAT

To any and everyone on earth who’s currently mad about Black Panther’s Best Picture Oscar nod......😊

I guess all that's left now is to wait for 24 February and see who wins what.
