Georgia (Madelaine Petsch) is the manager of the Hotel Fontaine in New York and is caught in a romantic entanglement between the hotel chef (Mena Massoud) and an actual prince staying at the hotel. If you can't spend the holidays in a luxury NYC hotel and if, like me, you're having trouble meeting a prince, then at least we can imagine with this movie.
Heartbroken Leslie (Leigh-Ann Rose) is single and home for the holidays when her sister sets her up with a handsome pro footballer. But as the title suggests, things with the footballer are not as they seem, and when her childhood best friend shows her that true love might be in the last place she was looking.
Tammin Sursok stars as Livvy, whose boyfriend has just dumped her for another woman on their one-year anniversary. Ouch! When she discovers he has done the same to two other exes, they decide to get back at the guy so he won't do it to his new girlfriend. Meanwhile, a new Christmas romance is blossoming for Livvy.
This 1970s Canadian slasher horror is a Christmas staple if you love horror films. It deals with a serial killer who returns to stalk his childhood home, which now happens to be a sorority house. The killer, who they call "The Moaner" makes a series of disturbing calls to the house, and it's all fun and games for one of them until the murders start happening. Freevee has the 2006 remake as well — but you can't go past the original!
Childhood friends come home for the holidays from their first semester at college and over the course of twelve days, have to navigate reunions, romantic longings, and an unplanned pregnancy. Just the kind of Christmas chaos we love!
Another love triangle holiday movie, this one stars Karissa Staples as Kayla, who is recovering from a relationship with a controlling choreographer when she shares a kiss with handsome and lonely caterer, Sebastian. Now the choreographer is being nice again, because of course, and she is torn between the two.
This comedy follows Jaqueline (played by Jennifer Freeman), a former it-girl who now finds herself in a quarter-life crisis and a doomed marriage. She bumps into a former classmate and wishes she could have a do-over – and then by some Christmas miracle, is sent back in time for a second chance.
Taylor (played by Olivia Buckle) is a perfectionist, so when her family guilt-trips her into coming home for the holidays with her girlfriend, she agrees to. The only minor inconvenience is that Taylor and her girlfriend have actually broken up. So Taylor holds open auditions and hires an actress to play the role for the holidays.
Denise Richards plays Amy, a NYC advertising executive who returns to her hometown following the death of her aunt to fulfill her dying wish — for her niece to re-open her bakery and host the town's 50th annual Christmas cookie contest. What she wasn't expecting was that her high school sweetheart would inherit the other half of the bakery, forcing them to reunite.
Samantha returns home for the holidays to find her sister, Emily, in love with Tony but unable to pursue a relationship with him because they are both heirs to rival wine companies. Samantha must now try to win over Parker, Tony's half-brother and co-owner so that Emily and Tony can be together. Samantha can't stand Parker but she's up for the challenge. This is a reimagining of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew and it has Christmas and wine and an opposites attract narrative, so I'm here for it.
In the midst of a career crisis, Haley Hollis returns to her family ranch for the holidays. The ranch is at risk of closing, so she is forced to stick around and help. But in the process, she starts to fall in love with life out there — especially because she's been spending so much time with the ranch hand, Kate. We've got a queer ranch holiday romance and a former country gal struggling with the demands of city life returning home for the holidays. That's a yes from me!
