This dude is hilarious, and you always have a good time when you hang out with him, but usually you only hear from him through mass invites over Facebook. But tonight it’s different. He wants to go grab a beer! At least, that’s what it seems like at first. It doesn’t take long for him to “suddenly remember” that he’s “got a show tonight” and that you should “totally come!” Sorry, looks like you got roped into a night of “comedy."

The Friend Who Has An Improv Show Tonight

The night starts fairly normal…maybe he seems a little distracted? Then the more he has to drink, the more sullen and withdrawn he becomes. You ask him how his boyfriend is doing, and suddenly your friend bursts into tears. He’s inconsolable, and through sobs you learn that his boyfriend walked out on him. Looks like you’ve got a long night ahead of you.

The Friend Who Just Got Dumped

This happy hour has been on the books for weeks, and it’s been so long since you’ve seen your friend, you’ve got tons to catch up with her about. Except she’s got to make it an early evening because even though SHE KNEW she was going out tonight, she got hammered with some other friends the night before and can’t even look at a drink without feeling sick. Sorry, looks like you’re on your own tonight.

The Friend Who Is Too Hungover To Be Any Fun

Damn! This could have been a really great night with a close friend, but she brought her boyfriend Alan along. I mean, Alan is a nice enough dude, but you know how it is. They keep talking about their personal lives while you sit awkwardly. Then Alan sits awkwardly as you and your friend make inside jokes he’s not in on. It’s a real mess. Might as well call it a night and head home early.

A nice, quiet evening with a close friend is exactly what you need tonight. But that’s not what your friend has planned for you! Nah, there’s a great party that you two DEFINITELY have to make it to tonight. Not going is definitely not an option! Why are you being so weird? What do you mean you don’t want to go out? You love parties! You used to be so cool. What happened?

The Friend Who’s Definitely Going To Drag You To A Party

Oh! YES! You did it. You found that one friend who’s actually excited to see you, and who’s going to hang out and have a good time with you without any hidden agendas or ulterior motives. Just two buds having a good time together! (Until tomorrow morning that is, when you’ll both have the worst hangovers of your lives.)

A Good Friend Who’s Genuinely Excited To Spend Time With You!

This is that crazy, outgoing friend who always shows you a good time when you go out together. But tonight she’s got something else on her mind, and it doesn’t take long for her to grab the attention of some boy at the other end of the bar. She says she’ll be right back, and 45 minutes later you realize you’ve been ditched. Oh well, at least one of you had a good time.

The Friend Who Will Leave You Alone At The Bar

The night starts off great, but at some point, your friend has one more drink than they should have, and all of a sudden your sweet, fun friend Jessica is replaced by her much sloppier, much more belligerent counterpart, Drunk Jessica. Drunk Jessica is a lot less fun to be around, so you throw her in a cab and make your way home. Looks like you're headed to bed early tonight.

The Friend Who Can’t Hold Their Alcohol

Whoa! What a night! Your friend is in rare spirits, and keeps ordering food and drinks for the two of you. You’re living like royalty right now! He gets so caught up in the fun that he even orders a round for everyone at the bar! And then as the night is winding down, the bartender brings over the lengthy check, and your buddy hits you with “Let’s just split it on two cards.” Great. You’re gonna have to take a second job to pay off this night.
