BuzzFeed was recently given the opportunity to explore Batuu, the planet at the heart of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, now open at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disneyland Park in California. Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed There are so many characters with so many backstories that it's hard to keep track, so I'm here to help you with a guide of who the heck is who. Matt Stroshane / Disney 1. Hondo Ohnaka Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed You know Hondo from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but he's at Galaxy's Edge and you'll see him at Smuggler's Run, where he has a "legitimate business" and orchestrates deliveries for Ohnaka Transports. If you do a run for him, you'll take control of the Millennium Falcon, which he is borrowing from Chewbacca. 2. Dok-Ondar David Roark / Disney Parks Dok-Ondar is the proprietor of the Den of Antiquities, where Dok-Ondar collects, sells, and trades hard-to-find and valuable items. He's also the gatekeeper to the black market at Black Spire Outpost, the civilization at Galaxy's Edge. You can see him working diligently behind his desk, making sure his store runs smoothly. 3. Oga Garra Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed You'll never see Oga, but she's a crime boss who runs the cantina and has her fingers in different businesses around Galaxy's Edge. You can hear her sometimes barking orders to her cantina staff. 4. Zabaka Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed Zabaka is a Toydarian (the same species that Watto was in The Phantom Menace). She has a storefront in Galaxy's Edge of toys that she handmakes herself. She's always busy in the back room, and you can frequently see her flying about. 5. DJ R-3X Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed This is the DJ in Oga's Cantina. DJ R-3X was previously a Star Tours pilot, but now spins tunes. If he accidentally blows the power (which he's prone to do) and the staff has to hit the hyperdrive to re-power the bar, you may hear him start back up and go into his old Star Tours script before recorrecting and playing more music. 6. Kat Saka Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed Kat Saka is a fourth generation grain farmer who runs the kettle stand. She's another alien who likes to run her business from behind the scenes, but she's serving up some classic "popped grains" with unusual flavors like blueberry cheesecake and chili lime (pictured). 7. Kylo Ren Matt Stroshane / Disney I'm sure you know him. He's the bad guy. You'll see Kylo Ren walking around Galaxy's Edge making sure visitors follow the rules of the First Order, and you'll come face-to-face with him when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens on December 5, 2019 at Walt Disney World and January 19, 2020 at Disneyland. 8. 8D-J8 Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed 8D-J8 is the droid turning the meat at Ronto Roasters. A former smelting droid (you'll recognize the same type of droid torturing other droids at Jabba's palace in Return of the Jedi), 8D-J8 was reprogrammed to only turn the ronto meats now. 9. Rey Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed You met Rey in The Force Awakens. The fierce Jakku warrior and Jedi can be seen at the Resistance Encampment trying to recruit supporters for the Resistance. 10. R5-P8 Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed R5-P8 is Hondo Ohnaka's right-hand droid. The astromech is featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as in Galaxy's Edge at Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. 11. Chewbacca Matt Stroshane / Disney Parks I'm simply not going to explain who the legendary Wookie fighter Chewbacca is. You should already know. Chewie is at Galaxy's Edge because the Millennium Falcon needs parts and the Resistance needs supplies. Hence his deal to loan the Falcon to Hondo Ohnaka in exchange for these items. 12. R6-29 Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Tap to play or pause GIF Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed You'll see R-series units powering/helping operate the Coca Cola carts in Galaxy's Edge where they sell the exclusive soda orbs. Fun fact: While R2 units have a dome-shaped head, R6 units have the point at the top. 13. Bina Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed Bina is the proprietor of the creature shop. She travels throughout the galaxy picking up animals for her store to help them find forever homes. She's currently off-world, but her pet is in the shop, a Loth-cat (pictured), who happily sleeps and wags its tail. 14. Stormtroopers Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed The Stormtroopers are loyal to the First Order, and you'll see them constantly pestering the citizens of Batuu to make sure they're following the rules. Though they may just be out on patrol, oftentimes you can see them with the one and only Kylo Ren stirring up trouble. 15. Savi & The Gatherers Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed Savi owns the Lightsaber Workshop, but the workshop is run by her Gatherers, a group of men and women who believe in the force and are dedicated to bringing balance to the galaxy. They guide Jedi-hopefuls in the construction of their lightsabers. 16. Mubo Audrey Worboys / BuzzFeed Mubo is another behind-the-scenes character, but he's the proprietor of the Droid Depot (pictured), where he collects parts from all different kinds of droids for you to make one yourself. Mubo likes to run the business from the background, so you won't see or hear him. 17. Vi Moradi Matt Stroshane / Disney Vi is a Resistance spy who has traveled to Batuu to scout it for a Resistance Base. She roams around Galaxy's Edge looking for recruits and trying to stay a step ahead of the First Order. She also has really awesome hair and likes to knit. There you have it! Make sure you encounter all of the new and familiar faces at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge now open at Disneyland in California and Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.
