1. The full beard.

At some point, every guy has attempted, with varying degrees of success, to grow the coveted full beard. When executed correctly, it turns boys into men; glorious, lumberjacked visions of manhood. When it fails, it fails miserably and people may offer to wipe something off of your face only to come to the horrible realization that it's not Oreo cookie crumbs, it's your patchy facial hair. If you can't pull off the full beard, it's totally cool but you're better off just shaving the whole thing. This decade has been pretty rough on goatees or, *shudder*, soul patches. Full beard or bust, gentlemen.

2. EOS lip balms.

Girl, you know you have a ton of these. But you hardly ever use them, 'cuz let's be real -- they're terrible, taste like sunscreen and take up way too much room in your purse.

3. The top bun.

I kinda hope that this style survives the test of time because it's quick, easy, looks good on pretty much everyone and is basically a godsend for those of us who occasionally skip showers and look terrible in hats.

Everyone wears these even though they cost an arm and a leg and only really last for one summer before they start to fall apart, but whatever right? because it's for charity somehow.

People are pretty serious about kale. It's basically the answer to all of life's problems. Tired? Eat kale. Adult acne? Eat some kale. People would wipe their butts with kale if someone even so much as suggested that it helps regulate your bowels. Here's the truth about kale: you have to smother it in some sort of cheesy casserole just so it doesn't taste like someone's lawn mower clippings in your mouth. And no one is fooled by "kale chips" either. Nice try, kale. Smarter people just lie about loving kale, thereby earning the respect and admiration of others while privately rolling around on a bed of the money they saved by not buying what is essentially just overpriced lettuce. SMDH.

8. Coconut oil.

Got a problem that can't be solved by ingesting copious amounts of kale? Don't fret! There is also coconut oil! But unlike kale -- which we've established is an elaborate scam perpetrated by the money-grubbing business moguls of the produce industry -- coconut oil is actually pretty legit. Here's the thing about coconut oil: Sure, you slather it on your face and it gives you beautiful skin, big deal, so do like, a billion other products. But can those products also be used as cooking oil for making awesome things like chicken wings? Or donuts?! Can Spectro Gel or CeraVe do double-duty like that? CAN KALE? No. No, they can't. Cococut oil has you covered from head to toe AND inside and out. Well played, coconut oil. 10/10.

9. Baby Skin.

This shit is the crown jewel of drug-store beauty products. I imagine that people are gonna be really bummed out the day the New York Times publishes an exposé about how Maybelline was using the skin of actual babies to make this translucent face goo the whole time. But for reals though, it's probably just made with fish scales and animal fat, so you know... the uge.... (Yooj? Did we ever figure that out?)

10. SoulCycle.

For as long as there has been leisure time, or you know, downtime at work, people have found ways to pass that time in a reasonably enjoyable manner. In the 2010s, we have Temple Run, the game that no one can beat and for all I know, has no actual ending. But is there any greater rush than the one you get from a speed AND a magnet boost combo? NOPE.

If you're still going around referring to electronic, synth-based, sample-heavy music as "electronica" or god forbid, "techno", congratulations, you are old AF. And while I have no doubt that electronic dance music will still be kicking around ten years from now, I can only assume that it will go by some sort of weird new moniker, perhaps robogroovefuck or something like that. In the 90s, they called it techno. In the 00s, it became electronica. In the 2010s, it's EDM. There is also a very likely possibility that these are all distinct styles in which case, you got me, youth culture. You got me.

13. Tinder and Grindr.

Noawadays, everyone with a smartphone is getting their fuck on app-style thanks to Tinder and Grindr. Personally, I've never gone down this road due to a general hostility towards technology that knows where I am and tells other people. But for many non-paranoid, well-adjusted human beings, this whole swipe-right-for-sex (I think?) system seems to be pretty effective. I don't like it.
