Farmville Is Shutting Down And Millennials Will Be Either Thrilled Or Devastated

No, I will not water your crops, Sharon.

Farmville: You either love it or hate it. Or you just make memes about it.

Basically, everyone who was on Facebook before 2012 remembers getting 100 frickin' notifications from friends asking you to tend their crops or send them a cow or something.

But it's 2020 now, and it's officially the end of an era: Farmville is shutting down, per a statement on the Zynga support site.

For many, their love of the game died long ago.

I wish I cared about literally anything as much as I cared about my FarmVille crops in 2009

And while others look back fondly on those days...

    ....I miss Farmville a tiny bit. https://t.co/mPKKiZlRFn

...I, for one, am thrilled that I will never again receive a notification that some Boomer-in-training ex-high school classmate I haven't spoken to in 15 years needs me to, I dunno, hoe a garden or something.*

Mr Facebook, can you please explain why all my crops have died in FarmVille despite the fact I turned the computer off when I went on vacation

*Full disclosure, I never actually played this game.

Good night and good luck, digital farmers.
