There are also vinyl records in the lobby, so I chose a few, grabbed a portable record player (also available to borrow), and then headed on up to my room. 'Twas very cool and I felt very hip.
This hotel may be on a quiet and off-the-beaten-path street, but I was able to walk everywhere throughout the city and nothing was more than a 20-minute stroll.
Plus, most tour companies offer bus pick-up and drop-off from the hotel lobby — all I had to do was leave my room, take the elevator down, and get on the bus to all the ~natural~ wonders outside the city center.
By something more comfortable, I mean an oversized promotional t-shirt and boxer shorts.
I flew to Iceland on a budget airline, which means that checking a bag = basically more expensive than the actual flight, so I didn’t pack any shower necessities. Hotel bathrooms often have the worst quality products, but these were actually great — Apivita products ranging from olive soap to Greek honey and orange shampoo.
In other words, everything you consume here uses only the freshest produce available.
Usually when a hotel serves a breakfast buffet, you'll get some eggs, bacon, coffee, maybe a serving of cantaloupe if you're lucky. But here? Wow. I feasted on smoked salmon with rye bread, fresh berries, a cappuccino, a banana smoothie... Staying here genuinely ruined my breakfast standards, TBH.
*Cold-pressed wellness shots in NYC cost, like, $9. It's basically a crime that this hotel gives them out for free.
