This morning, the showrunner of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Warren Leight, shared a heartbreaking update on Twitter: Josh Wallwork, one of the show's costumers, passed away from complications due to the coronavirus. He was just 45 years old.
Mariska Hargitay — the star of SVU — has since posted a tribute to Josh on Twitter, writing that she is "heartbroken" by the news.
"Heartbroken we are. I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face," she wrote. "He brought love and kindness everywhere he went. Always ready with the joke. The SVU Corredor [sic] will never be the same. We will miss you Josh. #ForeverInOurHearts."
Ice-T, who stars in SVU alongside Mariska, also posted a series of tweets in response to Josh's passing. He urged people to "stay safe" and "pay attention":
Actor Christopher Jackson, who worked with Josh on the CBS series Bull and was his friend, wrote to his Twitter followers that the costumer was a "beautiful soul":
Sending lots of love to Josh's family, friends, and the whole SVU crew in this difficult time.
