You know what I mean: in tune with his feelings, makes you feel like the only girl in the world, feminist...need I say more?
On the surface, Chris Evans may seem like just another buff himbo, but that's really a part of his charm. Evans has the charisma and dashing good looks, but also the enormous heart and voice to fight for what's right. Just look at that smile...and did you see him help Regina King up the stairs? Swoon.
Keanu Reeves has that sparkle in his eye where you just KNOW that the woman who wrote him took her time. Not only is he a big charity guy, but he's also a humble charity guy, meaning his donations oftentimes go unrecognized or unnoticed. He's notoriously respectful to his female co-stars, and women in general, oftentimes leaving a comfortable distance when taking pictures together. There have also been numerous recounts of Reeves going out of his way to be kind to strangers, such as him pulling over to call AAA for a woman stranded on the highway, and giving an extra $20,000 bonus to a set designer who was struggling with money at home. Just an overall great guy.
Ah, Matthew Lillard. Truly under-appreciated in every way and definitely belongs on this list. Not only is Lillard a top-notch actor, (I mean we've all at least seen Scooby-Doo right?) he's also a seriously positive force of nature. His Twitter is a gem, just like he is, and really gives the best summary of his personality. From speaking out against people who criticized his rule that those with small children, those on the spectrum, and those in wheelchairs should always be allowed to meet him first at conventions, to remaining humble yet thankful when tweeting back to his adoring fans. It really knocks it out of the park when you're both a great actor and a great human.
For those who aren't familiar with Tom Hardy this entry may seem strange, but know that under that tough exterior is a true gentleman and teddy bear. I recently I saw a clip of Hardy being asked an incredibly sexist and just plain rude question at a promotional panel for Mad Max: Fury Road and he handled it perfectly. He didn't go on a rant and give much-wanted attention to the interviewer, or ignore it, he simply responded "no," and assertively said his answer was "obvious." That's how Hardy is. His demeanor is blunt and even dumbfounded at times when asked distasteful questions as if he can't believe that someone could ask something so misogynistic.
In interviews Hardy is constantly mentioning the success of the women around him, never afraid to get personal with it either, saying "Women are the most profoundly important people who supported my growth and development as a person. My relationship with my mother and strong women – their support and innate wisdom have helped me carve my way through today. So, I have tremendous and profound respect for women."
Now I may be biased as an OG One Direction fan, but even without that pre-existing love, it's not difficult to see how Styles has changed the toxic masculinity game in many ways. Even beyond his contribution to the normalization of gender-neutral clothes and men engaging in other typically feminine ideas, Styles has used his influence and fame to bring up many important conversations surrounding the treatment of women, and specifically women who are also minorities.
As someone as young and powerful as Styles, it's incredible to see him become such a positive influence in the lives of younger fans and overall young creators in pop culture. Growing up with a mom and an older sister, Styles has credited them numerous times as one of his main points of gravity throughout his fame and the main teachers of his "Treat People With Kindness" mantra.
If anyone knows anything about Dylan O'Brien as a person outside of his large and small-screen roles, it's probably how outspoken he is on Twitter. With a lot to say and only 280 characters to say it in, O'Brien consistently goes on meaningful, moving, and overall impressive Twitter rants that leave his fans and fellow celebs in awe. He's the first to speak up in what he believes in and always knows what to say, even if it's something others would view as controversial.
Outside of social media, O'Brien also appears as someone extremely carefree and kind: always taking time for fans, friends, and family. And I mean look at him honestly: fluffy deep brown hair and chocolate puppy dog eyes? That's female writing.
I know stereotypically there's something about a British accent that gets a girl going — but it's just different with Tom Hiddleston. Though he's extremely gentlemanly with or without it, the accent does help. Remember that time a journalist tweeted at Hiddleston and jokingly asked him to bring him some soup because it was going to be a cold night outside the venue where he was going to be interviewing? Hiddleston found him on the carpet that night and brought him a thermos of soup. From giving women his jacket to taking over and dismissing uncomfortable questions for others, to profusely thanking every person he meets, Hiddleston truly is the perfect gentleman, and as he's been labeled before and humbly denied, possibly the nicest guy in the universe.
Of course most notably a star cast member from Criminal Minds, Matthew Gray Gubler also doubles as a human ray of sunshine. Soft-spoken, silly, kind, and seemingly non-stop optimistic, Gubler is truly the best-friend-turned-boyfriend that every girl on the internet under 30 is looking for right now. His quirky personality makes him extremely endearing and honestly, he's just a refreshing face to see in Hollywood.
He only has good things to say about every woman he works with, which is extremely respectful considering no one likes everyone, and always makes sure to mention when someone he cares about achieves something. Quite the lighthearted and lovable goof.
My main man Sebastian Stan, where to even start? Not only is Stan a laid-back sweetheart, but he's also humorous, confident, and relatable in all the right ways. Sure he's the Winter Soldier and in Oscar-nominated movies on the side, but watching him in interviews and seeing his interactions with fans, he really just seems like the most down-to-earth, empathetic, normal guy. Like the guy who you run into at your hometown gas station while buying a few snacks who makes charming small talk with you and then pays for your gas without you knowing as a way of respectful flirting and then tells the attendant to just give you your receipt when you go up to pay and you notice a phone number is written on it. Like that kind of guy. And it's absolutely the best vibe.
