Science fiction movies are fucking awesome.
But while us sci-fi fans see ourselves like this:
Some of society sees us a little more like this:
We all know that person, the one we try to share our passion for *The Final Frontier* with, but their response is a little less than enthused.
Or worse, they flat-out group all of sci-fi together and claims they "just don't like that *NERDY* stuff".
So what's the one movie you would show to convert an anti-fan into a true believer, and why?
Would you start them off classic and *intellectual* with 2001: A Space Odyssey?
Or scare the shit out of them with the original Alien?
Or go completely against the grain and ensure that "by Grabthar's hammer, you shall be avenged" with something self-aware like Galaxy Quest?
