Not nearly as childish as it sounds, this one's definitely not for the faint of heart. A collection of seemingly random but actually interconnected stories all woven together thanks to the film's kind of adorable mascot, Sam, you simply HAVE TO watch this one if you haven't yet.

_Trick 'r Treat_ (2007)

If you've ever watched a horror film and thought, "Why is absolutely everyone here incompetent as all heck?!" this is the movie for you! The film's final girl, Erin, is an absolute and undisputed badass who genuinely redefines what it means to be a protagonist in the horror genre. Check this one out!

_You're Next_ (2011)

Every indie band's worst nightmare come to life, this one follows a punk rock band that makes an unfortunate pit stop while touring. After witnessing something they definitely shouldn't have, the band is trapped in the green room of the venue and forced to figure out a way to try and get out alive. Also, icon Patrick Stewart is in it.

_Green Room_ (2015)

Getting an invitation to an ex's dinner party is already awkward enough, but throw in some cult-y vibes and a sinister undertone, and you have this movie. Basically, a man takes his new girlfriend to his ex-wife's dinner party and all heck breaks loose. Moral of the story, don't go to parties, ever, they're not worth it.

_The Invitation_ (2015)

A wildly creepy slasher film that not nearly enough people even know exists, this one BEGINS with a young girl's murder at her first communion (literally not a spoiler, that's how this movie STARTS). When the tragedy is pinned on the girl's sister, Alice, their father goes on the hunt to find the real killer. It's dark, y'all.

_Alice, Sweet Alice_ (1976)

You're probably thinking, "Okay, what in the actual heck is this movie?" Let me put it this way: My horror-loving mom forced me to watch this once, and I slept on her bedroom floor that night because it messed me up...I was 16 at the time. It's your classic "suburban family moves into a weird house and people start losing it" story, but with a genuinely unforgettable twist. Check! It! Out!
