Every once in a while, you hear about a casting choice and just think to yourself, "Oh...oh no." But then, upon seeing some footage, you realize how wrong you were when said actor absolutely destroys it!

So, with that in mind, who was an actor you were sure would be mediocre in a role when first announced, but were pleasantly proven wrong when the trailer or movie was released?

Maybe you rolled your eyes when you saw Dwayne Johnson was cast in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, but ended up laughing your butt off due to his great comedic timing and commitment to the role.

Or, perhaps you scoffed when Lady Gaga was cast as the lead in A Star Is Born, but were the first to admit you were wrong upon the first trailer's release.

Heck, maybe you were like my friend and exclaimed, "I can't believe they cast that guy from 10 Things I Hate About You as the Joker!" Only to then look like a whole fool on opening night when Heath Ledger smashed his role in The Dark Knight.
