Leslie Jones Asked Twitter To Show Gabby Douglas Love After Harsh Criticism

#LOVE4GABBYUSA

Three-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas has become the subject of some harsh social media criticism during the ongoing 2016 Rio Games.

Despite her incredible, medal-winning performances in 2012's London Games and again as part of the "Final Five" in Rio this year, Gabby has been criticized online for her hair, called "Crabby Gabby" for the perception that she was not showing enough support for her teammates, and dragged for not raising her hand to her heart during the team medal ceremony.

As some of the criticism turned into ugly personal attacks, Ghostbusters star and Twitter QUEEN Leslie Jones — who is no stranger to online bullying — made a call to action on Twitter to send love to Gabby, using the hashtag #LOVE4GABBYUSA.

And Twitter stepped up to show love for Gabby in a big way.

People are NOT ok with the way Gabby has been unfairly treated.

Because she is MAGIC.

Shonda Rhimes shared this adorable tribute:

She also received support from Scandal star Kerry Washington.

And Gabrielle Union shared this message of support "From one Gabby to another."

Shutting down shamers, people were quick to let Gabby know that she is a source of PRIDE for her country...

...And pointing out just how ridiculous the haters sound.

Because "queens > trolls." Obviously.

US Navy veteran Dan Rothweil even took the time to thank Gabby and her family for their service to our country.

And most importantly, she is a role model to the people who really matter.

Like these two future Team USA Olympians.

And all the tiny Gabbys out there who found a perfectly imperfect hero.

Through all of it, Gabby has handled herself with grace and class, and that is definitely something to recognize.

Because we all know that the haters are the ones who are actually weak and powerless.

And Gabby will always rise above.

Keep doing your thing, Gabby. You are a national treasure!
