Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finally found their sense of peace — in part thanks to their new lives in California.
Following their exit from senior royal duties, Harry and Meghan have created a new place to call home, even though it's across the ocean from friends and family.
"Home for me now is, for the time being, in the States, and it feels that way, as well. We’ve been welcomed with open arms and have such a great community in Santa Barbara," Harry said in an interview with Today's Hoda Kotb.
And since their move to their California neighborhood, the couple have settled in to raise their two children, Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 10 months.
Although Harry questions how many people "feel truly peaceful," he says that at this point in his life, there are times when he feels "massively at peace."
But he admits that his sense of peace doesn't completely stop him from missing some of the family that he left behind in England.
"Especially over the last two years, for most people, have they not missed their family?" Harry questioned in the interview.
Thankfully, Harry confirmed that he was able to recently visit his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, before heading to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.
"Both Meghan and I had tea with her. It was really nice to catch up with her," Harry shared, adding that the Queen was in "great form."
Harry continued, "We have a really special relationship... We talk about things that she can't talk about with anybody else."
And while Harry's children will be able to know their great-grandmother, he says he also makes a great effort for them to know their grandmother, the late Princess Diana.
He noted that he's told Archie and Lilibet all about "Grandma Diana" and that there are photos of her "up in the house."
In fact, Harry admits that his mother has been a "constant" presence in his life over the past two years.
"It’s almost as though she has done her bit with my brother and now she is very much helping me. She’s got him set up, and now she’s helping me set up. That’s what it feels like," Harry explained.
He added that while he has always felt "her presence in almost everything" he does, he now feels her with him "daily" — more so in the last two years "than ever before": "She’s watching over us."
