Today's genius teen is Brendan Gatward.
Gatward's a 17-year-old high school senior from Michigan. He tells BuzzFeed it took his folks about 10 minutes to figure out what the hell was going on: "I was just playing a small prank...and it blew up. I'm glad I gave a bunch of people a good laugh."
By way of verification he also sent us a picture of his dad with his phone having been pranked. His dad wants to stay out of the public eye but trust us, it's great.
