In the video, a female motorcyclist spots a kitten in the middle of a busy traffic intersection. She signals the flow of traffic to stop, jumps off her bike and saves it.

It appears the kitten was clinging on to the undercarriage of the red car you see drive past early on in the video.

The woman hands the terrified little thing to a bystander when she goes to retrieve her bike.

And now he's got a name – Skidmark!

The motorcyclist, who wishes only to go by her first name, Laney, wrote on Reddit that a trip to the vet showed he was four weeks old, and had a bit of ringworm to take care of, but was otherwise fine.

She told BuzzFeed News: "This happened in Oklahoma. No news on Skid's owner yet."

Skid appeared to fall out of the undercarriage of a red car: "[The driver] has my number if it turns out he was her cat," said Laney.

Apart from that, she wants you all to know people should support their local shelters and keep "an eye out for motorcyclists doing crazy things on the road!"

But the good news is, as she wrote on YouTube, "The dork is home, and happy."
