It's really hard to write off a beloved TV character in a way that the audience is satisfied with, but some shows DO manage to do it.
For example, maybe you liked how Fiona Gallagher was written off Shameless because her story ended with her telling off Frank one last time and leaving her siblings with $50,000, which perfectly summed up her character's selfless disposition.
Or maybe you were obsessed with Love from You, and though you wish she hadn't been killed, you felt the overdramatic way she died was true to the nature of the series and made sense for the story.
Or maybe you loved how Cristina Yang was written off Grey's Anatomy because she left Grey-Sloan Memorial to become the director of cardiothoracic surgery somewhere else and it just made sense for her character because she wasn't going to get the same opportunities if she stayed.
