    President Clinton's Joint Chiefs Chairman Dies

    Retired Army General John Shalikashvili died of complications from a stroke at a medical hospital in Washington state on Saturday. He served under President Bill Clinton as the first foreign-born Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and was Clinton's head military advisor during the U.S. involvement in the Bosnian War. The former general immigrated to the United States from Poland at age 16 and was 75 when he died. (via CNN and National Journal.)
