Thank you for this post! My friend is hard of hearing and says deaf culture/awareness is poor in this country, so stuff like this helps educate people! It's so emotive and expressive!
This fucked me up when I saw this as a kid, but as a college student rewatching it, I totally appreciate it and relate to it. At the end, they give each other a little smile, so I'd say the ending is bittersweet, not tragic. Maybe we need more sobering media like this that shows kids…Â
Really? People are taking the quote out of its context; the context is about defying societal norms and expectations rather than being one who accepts the role she/he is told to play. Chill the hell out.
