Trump Gave $12,500 To Obama's Bank Prosecutor

Eric Schneiderman got a boost from Trump in 2010.

Donald Trump is endorsing Mitt Romney today, but in 2010, he gave Eric Schneiderman — now President Barack Obama's bank prosecutor — a $12,500 check for his bid to be New York State Attorney General.

Schneiderman, perhaps America's most powerful liberal, was tapped by Obama in January to take the lead on a new task force to investigate and prosecute misdeeds in housing market in the years before the financial crisis — with an emphasis on banks.

Schneiderman has been widely panned by conservatives including the editorial page of Trump's favorite newspaper — the New York Post.
