I find it hilarious when customers try to haggle the price with you. I work at a home furnishing store and it’s interesting that the first thing they say to me is ‘Can I have this for cheaper?’ I don’t have a say in the pricing, nobody in the store does (We are a chain, not a franchise). They proceed to tell me that the furniture is just a pile of crap and that it shouldn’t be priced that high. HELLO! If it’s crap to you, why are you buying it? The customers continue to point out every single design flaw while I think to myself if the furnitures clearly doesn’t meet their standards why are they still in the store? It’s also interesting when they want to know the exact price of something after the discount with the taxes. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind doing that at all… only if they weren’t swiping through the home screens on their iphone and I can clearly see their thumb hovering over the calculator app icon. Like whhhuut? Really? Meeting all these different people has made me appreciate retails workers so much more. From reading all these experiences of other people working in retail, I don’t understand why people act so nasty towards retail associates. Please….TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED!
